Finally…FINALLY….warmer weather (for now)….and all of us could not be more excited to be outside right now.
For many parks & rec departments, this is the big week of cleanup after the winter that seemingly never wanted to end.
With these massive cleanups, it’s imperative that these organizations are enforcing proper safety measures to ensure their workers’ safety.
We’ve seen a few news reports recently where, specifically, it’s been parks & rec employees who have been injured during cleanups…due to falling trees & mishaps with machinery (lawn mowers, trimmers, etc).
While we are all in a rush to welcome in Spring & Summer…it’s of utmost importance to adhere to all the safety precautions and not cut corners.
Employers can NOT simply send workers into the field and “hope for the best”. It’s a practice too many employers attempt…and it results in needless employee injury.
